Young people who use harmful or abusive behaviour in relationships need a different approach. This training will equip you with the knowledge and practical tools to recognise patterns of harm, have effective conversations, and respond confidently when working with this age group. Delivered by Ahimsa's Youth Service team, this session covers:

What drives harmful behaviour in young people and how it differs from adult perpetration

Recognising warning signs and patterns of abuse in teen and young adult relationships

How to have challenging conversations that create accountability without shutting down engagement

Developing emotional regulation skills - sitting with discomfort, being open to emotional vulnerability, grounding and breathing techniques

Wrap-around support approaches that encourage engagement

The training is interactive, grounded in real practice, and designed for anyone who works in Plymouth with young people - youth workers, education staff, social workers, early help practitioners, housing officers, health professionals, parents, carers, and other frontline roles. This training is funded by Plymouth City Council
