East Tunnel Tours are available to pre-book on the following dates:

- Saturday 16 January 2027
Tours at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.00pm
Duration: 60 minutes
Tickets: £12
Capacity: 12 people per tour
Suitable for ages 12+
Please pre-book your tour.
The tour is not considered suitable for under 12’s due to the tour route.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Unfortunately, the tour route is not accessible.
The tour involves changes in surfaces, low light levels, walking through the tunnel and the requirement to follow pathways. The East tunnel is not fully restored, and lighting is provided by torches and portable units. The tunnel pathway is narrower than that of the main tunnel.
Fort Nelson is a scheduled ancient monument and contains areas of uneven ground.
Please wear sensible and sturdy footwear to tackle the uneven ground. Visitors wearing unsuitable footwear may be refused entry on H&S grounds.
