Time away from the ongoing demands of everyday life is so important in our spiritual journey. Jesus said to his disciples, 'Come away with me to a quiet place', and this is exactly what you are invited to do at this Quiet Day led by members of The Community of Hopeweavers.
The day will start by gathering for refreshments from 9.45am before coming together to say Hopeweaver Morning Prayer. There will then be an extended time of silence in which you can choose to connect with God in whatever ever way you feel comfortable. There will be creative art materials available to use, as well as quiet spaces. Some people choose to journal or draw, others simply to sit quietly in God's presence.
At midday we gather back together to say Midday Prayer and have the chance to share something of your morning with others if you would like to. We then eat lunch together (or a silent table is also provided for those who would prefer that). Then the afternoon has more opportunity for stillness before we end our day together in prayer and with tea and cake.
Participants will need to bring their own packed lunch. Fruit, cuppa soups, cake and tea/coffee are provided throughout the day however.
We ask for a donation of £25 for this day, which helps cover the cost of hiring the venue, the art materials and refreshments. However, we would never want cost to be a barrier to anyone coming along, so please contact us if this is an issue.
We hope to see you at our Quiet Day!
Safeguarding
Keeping each other and our visitors safe is our top priority. For us, safeguarding is not simply a box to tick but an ongoing attitude of love and care, particularly for children and vulnerable adults associated with The Community of Hopeweavers. To this end we follow the Church of England Safeguarding guidelines. If you have any safeguarding matter to raise with the Community then please email safeguarding@hopeweavers.org.uk
