Now the Oyster homes ( Cages ) are being built, we need your help with cable tying the hundreds of baskets together!
Final Straw Foundation is helping to restore populations of the native oyster and bring back the environmental benefits that they provide.
This keystone species improves water quality, boosts biodiversity, and captures carbon.
In 2025 we reintroduced 10,000 native oysters into the Solent Waters, and this we are reintroducing 20,000 back into our waters and need help to assemble and cable-tie homes for them.
These cable-tying sessions will require one volunteer at a time to work with a member of the Final Straw Foundation team to help cable the cages together.
No experience necessary, as all training will be provided on the day.
