Shanklin to Sandown – the inland way! Autumnal America Wood and Borthwood Copse, Newchurch Nature Reserve, Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve with its hide and a community orchard. Back by train!
The easiest way back is by train which runs every 40mins where we can get a group ticket. On the walk, there are some high stiles.
Length of walk: 7 miles (approx 4 hours)
Walk Cost: Voluntary donation to Friends of Shanklin Theatre

Type of Walk: Linear
Start Location: Shanklin Train Station, Shanklin, PO37 7AR (SZ581818)
Finish Location: Sandown Train Station, Sandown, PO36 9BN (SZ593844)
Pace of Walk: Brisk - This walk will follow a brisk pace.
Walk grade: Moderate - Varying landscape with more challenging slopes. Stiles and steps to be expected en route, suitable for keen walkers and anyone who is reasonably active. Distance up to 8 miles.
Walk Mobility: Walkers need to be reasonably agile and mobile. Not suitable for walkers with mobility impairment of any kind
