Immerse yourself in the sound of the gongs in an overnight Gong Puja with Danielle North, Sheila Whittaker and friends.

WHAT IS A GONG PUJA?

A Puja is a sacred ceremony held to establish a deeper spiritual connection. In this context it is a dedicated overnight sound journey where the gongs are played without interruption for 8 hours - an entire sleep cycle.

Instead of a performance, think of it as a sound container, a continuous field of vibration designed to support rest, renewal and inner realignment. Your role is simply to lie down, let go and allow the sound to unfold around you in this profound experience.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

On arrival your shoes and smartphones will be left at the door, and you will be invited to create your own cosy nest of bedding in the Gong Puja space. We begin with an opening ceremony and then surrender to the night as experienced gong practitioners play in rotation, keeping the vibration flowing until sunrise.

Many describe the experience as dreaming inside sound, profoundly peaceful, unexpectedly emotional and gently transformative.

As dawn arrives, we enter Śūnyatā, 30 minutes of profound meditative stillness that allows the frequencies of the gongs to settle and integrate. This shared silence is held without interruption.

We end the experience together with a light breakfast before stepping back into the day.

This experience is led by experienced gong practitioners and tutors Danielle North and Sheila Whittaker with friends.

Danielle North

Danielle, a qualified Sound Healer with the Voice, Gong Practitioner and Gong Tutor with the UK College of Sound Healing, is also a six-time published author with over 100,000 books sold, and has spent over 20 years coaching business leaders and running spiritual retreats around the world.

Blending sound, stillness and rituals she facilitates from a forgotten realm; one where communication flows through ancient tones and the power that lies beyond words.

Sheila Whittaker

Sheila is a world renowned Sound Healer specialising in the use of large high quality gongs. She has a musical background, having originally trained at the Royal College of Music as a violinist & teacher. Her musical work led her naturally into Sound Healing over twenty-five years ago when she discovered the healing power of chant/mantra.

She is the lead tutor in charge of the Gong Department for the College of Sound Healing, and has been teaching under the College umbrella for over 20 years. She wrote the very comprehensive year-long Gong Practitioner Training course for the College, and taught the Course to different groups of students for 15 years until October 2025.

Sheila also gives other Gong & Sound Healing workshops under her own banner - Gong School - as well as individual sessions, demonstrations & concerts as time allows.
