Join us for an immersive hands-on day at our woodland site near Warminster, Wiltshire, where you will learn essential survival and bushcraft skills. This course is designed to provide practical knowledge and techniques for thriving in the wild. Our expert instructors will guide you through a variety of activities to ensure you leave with a solid foundation in bushcraft and survival skills.
Key Activities:
Build a Debris Shelter: Learn how to construct a shelter using natural materials to protect yourself from the elements.
Purify Water: Discover methods to make water safe for drinking using natural resources.
Use Natural Tinders: Identify and use natural materials to create effective tinder for fire lighting.
Light a Fire Without Matches: Master the skill of starting a fire using alternative methods.
Make Cordage from Natural Plant Fibres: Create strong and durable cordage from plants found in the wild.
Identify Trees: Gain knowledge on tree identification and their uses in bushcraft.
Use a Knife and Folding Saw Safely: Learn the correct techniques and safety measures for handling cutting tools.
Find North Without a Compass: Develop the ability to navigate using natural signs and landmarks.
The course is open to participants aged 16 and above, with younger students allowed by prior arrangement. It runs from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm with a half-hour break for lunch. Throughout the day, you can enjoy a selection of teas and coffees, as the kettle will be on for you to make a cuppa.
