49 Trees – Performance and Workshop

About This Event

Get stuck in with two days of dancing and exciting premier performances including '49 Trees' on Sunday 2nd August at 1pm and 3:30pm. From one famous tree, forty nine saplings now grow across the United Kingdom. Hope appears in the form of bright green leaves. New growth is born of destruction. 49 Trees is a bold and moving duet about our relationship to nature and what we can learn from its messy, determined way of being. Performed by Anjali’s professional learning-disabled dancer Lauren Payne and Dance Artist Frank Hickman, the piece celebrates individuality, creativity and the strength of human relationships. As well as the performance, audiences are invited to take part in a fun and accessible movement workshop led by members of the company. No previous dance experience is needed, just a willingness to get moving and explore. The workshop is open to all ages and abilities, offering a chance to discover some of the creative ideas behind the performance and experience inclusive dance first-hand.
