In this session, founder-turned-angel investor, Chris Dalrymple (ex-Mina, now investor and startup advisor) will share the Mina funding journey, how he raised investment, and what he’s learned as an exited founder, and what he is looking for as an angel investor.

This session is for startup founders who are thinking about raising from angel investors but aren’t sure if they’re “ready,” or how to prove they’re worth backing. It’s also for founders who simply want to better understand how investors think.

Guest Speaker's Bio - Chris Dalrymple:

"I'm an exited founder, angel investor, and business mentor. I'm passionate about helping ambitious entrepreneurs build, scale, and exit successful businesses.

As co-founder and Managing Director of Mina - an EV charging B Corp - I grew a startup from an idea to exit, navigating the highs, the challenges, and everything in between. From our base in Kelham we grew the business with the help of Angel investment, selling to a US payments company just 3 years after we were formed. Prior to Mina I've worked across many businesses of different sizes, always within digital roles. I now do fractional consultancy, mentoring and advisory roles.

I am also a co-founder of Trove, which supports high-growth tech businesses to grow and scale rapidly through hands-on, practical support learned from years spent at the coal face.

What I love most is working with founders to build strong, sustainable businesses with the right structures and teams to thrive. Having been through the journey myself, I know how tough it can be and how rewarding. My approach is hands-on, honest, and focused on pragmatic actions that can make a difference."
