Come hang out with us at the next FaithTech Sheffield, where we mix faith and tech in a fun and relaxedy setting!

October meetup

Seventy years after post-war Britain began to embrace radical self-liberation, our so-called progress looks a lot like tech-addicted loneliness, moral decay and spiritual confusion. When Silicon Valley figures prophesy doom over humanity, is that enlightened awareness or a distraction from the small, incremental technological changes hastening cultural decline right now?

Filmmaker brothers Fionn and Toby Watts (https://www.farnorthfilm.com/about-us) are taking the long view. Their work-in-progress documentary, How Did We Get Here?, brings together leading voices from the arts, science, faith and technology to expose the dark ironies of our age and ask how we might reclaim what it truly means to be human.

On the night:

• A first look at extracts from How Did We Get Here?

• Fionn and Toby on the prophetic role of the artist in the modern world and why understanding how we got here matters if we want to do good in technology and the arts

• Open discussion, and your chance to help shape the documentary's direction.
