Strange Sheffield Ghost Tours: Fifth Anniversary Special

Five years ago, on a rather windswept October evening, I led my very first Sheffield Ghost Tour. That was Friday 29th October 2021....

And somehow, despite everything, people kept coming back. I genuinely had no clue what it would lead to, to what was about to happen, and to how my life was about to change.

So, for the fifth anniversary of Strange Sheffield Ghost Tours, it feels very fitting to go back to where it all began.

So join me, local storyteller and author Adrian Finney, for a special anniversary ghost walk along Bunting Nook — one of England’s most haunted roads.

We’ll delve into the dark and twisted history of the area, from the ghostly aircraft that have reportedly been seen passing overhead, to the mysterious trickster spirit said to be buried somewhere nearby.

And then there’s the small matter of the giant black dog with eyes of flame, which has allegedly been stalking this part of Sheffield for close to a thousand years.

Our route will take us through parts of Graves Park, itself home to more than its fair share of ghostly tales, before continuing through the Norton area, where we’ll encounter some wonderfully atmospheric 18th-century buildings.

It’s a walk packed with ghosts, folklore, strange happenings and the sort of stories that make you look over your shoulder just a little more than usual.

🎃 THE DETAILS

📅 Thursday 29th October 2026

⏰ 8pm start

📍 We start on the public footpath besides St James Church at Norton, S8 8JQ, and that free on street parking is available at both ends. I’d recommend parking at the bottom of Matthew’s Lane into Norton Church Road (S8 8GZ).

The what.3.words location is, rather appropriately, tiny.tummy.warns

The route is under a mile long and is fully accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility scooters. There are, however, a few steeper sections, so if you have any questions about accessibility, please feel free to get in touch before booking.
