About This Event

The Worksop Canal Walk is part of Heritage Open Days. The event focuses on the 46-mile long Chesterfield Canal, which travels from the River Trent through Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. Tickets are listed at £0.

The 46 mile long Chesterfield Canal meanders from the River Trent through to Chesterfield, travelling through Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. The canal has over 250 years of history, and this Heritage Open Day you can discover more about the stories it holds.

Starting at Mr Straws House, our volunteers will take you on a 4.5 mile walk along the canal. As well as discovering snippets of history about this fascinating canal and it's role in the history of Worksop, this walk will be an opportunity to meet new people and be out and about together. For any children joining the walk, there will be a free canal spotter trail too.
