About This Event

A workshop on outdoor education and learning will occur at Hazelwood Forest in Sligo on 10 March 2027. The session uses practical, hands-on experiences to demonstrate how outdoor spaces support development and wellbeing. Tickets cost £44.04.

Discover how outdoor spaces can support learning, development and wellbeing through practical, hands-on experiences.

Join Field Studies Ireland for a practical introduction to Outdoor Education, exploring how outdoor environments can be used as stimulating resources for learning, development and wellbeing.

This fully outdoor course introduces Outdoor Education as a teaching methodology rather than a subject, demonstrating how meaningful, hands-on experiences can support learning across a wide range of settings and people.

Through a variety of practical, sensory and experiential activities, participants will explore how curiosity, exploration and discovery can encourage engagement, build confidence and strengthen connections with the natural environment.

We will also consider how Outdoor Education can support wider themes such as sustainability, biodiversity, wellbeing and curriculum-based learning.

Field Studies Ireland is a not-for-profit organisation specialising in Outdoor Education. Our expertise lies in using Outdoor Education as a methodology across a wide range of subjects, settings and environments, placing us in a unique position to deliver practical, meaningful training.
