The Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences at Southampton University will host its inaugural lecture series at the Centenary Building on 21 October 2026. The lectures feature various speakers and are free to attend.
The Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences is delighted to welcome you to our 2026/2027 Inaugural Lecture Series.
Join us for the latest lecture in the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences (FELS) Inaugural Lecture Series, (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/geography/news/fels-inaugural-lectures.page) celebrating the achievements and contributions of newly appointed Professors.
Inaugural Lectures provide an opportunity for newly appointed Professors to share their expertise, research achievements and future ambitions with colleagues, students, collaborators and the wider community.
This lecture will be delivered by Professor Lyn Ellett, who will share insights from their research and the impact of their work.
Professor Lyn Ellett obtained her PhD in Psychology from the University of Exeter and subsequently completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at KCL. She worked full time in the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist for a year and then joined Royal Holloway, University of London as a Lecturer, where she worked for 14 years. Lyn joined UoS in 2022 and is now a Professor of Psychology and Mental Health in the School of Psychology and recently gained Principal Fellowship of the HEA. She also serves as Deputy Head of the School (Education). She has over 20 years of experience in academic research and clinical practice where she has made internationally leading contributions to understanding paranoia and developing mindfulness-based therapy for people with psychosis.
