Step inside paintings of The Perseus Story and become part of an interactive journey through the Ancient Greek story of Perseus and Medusa.
How are stories written thousands of years ago still relevant today? And why do humans tell stories in the first place?! Join Dr Ali Eales to step inside Edward Burne-Jones's paintings of The Perseus Story and become part of an interactive journey through the Ancient Greek story of Perseus and Medusa.
Designed for children and adults to enjoy together, this lively storytelling session will use Southampton City Art Gallery's Perseus paintings as the starting point for an imaginative adventure.
Following Perseus on his dangerous quest, you will encounter strange creatures and gods, and discover some of the magical objects that help him along the way. You will be invited to join in through movement, dressing-up, sounds and simple role-play as the story unfolds - you can even papercraft your own props! Or simply listen if you prefer.
