Make your way to London Southend Airport to see Vulcan XL426 at high-speed on the Southend runway and hear its engines howl at full power.

Join us at our Vulcan Summer Taxi-Run and see Vulcan XL426 blast down the London Southend Airport runway on Saturday 12 September.

Viewing will be from the Trust's exclusive visitor area in front of its hangar. This will give an uninterrupted view across the airport and unrivalled photographic opportunities.

XL426 will make two taxi-runs down the runway. The second pass will be at high-speed and the Vulcan will then taxi back to the apron area, giving a superb close-up view as the Vulcan taxies in and shuts down her engines.

Gates will open at 11.30 am.

Arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, view our displays and exhibits and watch XL426 being prepared for the afternoon's event.

Teas, coffees and hot and cold refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.

Tickets are priced £50.00 for adults and £16.00 for under-16s. Booking fees apply.

Vulcan Restoration Trust Members are entitled to reduced-price Adult admission of £25.00 (Individual Members may purchase one reduced-price ticket and Family Members may purchase two.)

Children under the age of 6 cannot be admitted, sorry. Under-16s must have a ticket and must be accompanied by an Adult ticket holder.

Visitors can arrive by bus or train. London Southend Airport station is approximately 15-20 minutes' walk away and is served by frequent trains on the London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria line.

Free car parking will be available close to the Vulcan. Please follow the ‘Vulcan Open Day’ direction signs after entering the airport.

We have a disabled car park situated next to the event entrance. On arrival, please let our car park volunteers know that you require disabled parking and they will direct you towards the disabled car park or to other parking close to the entrance.

Assistance Dogs Only - we welcome trained Assistance Dogs (as defined by the Equality Act 2010). To ensure the safety and smooth operation of the event, Assistance Dogs must remain under control at all times, on a lead or harness, and accompany their handler in a quiet and controlled manner. Due to airport rules, pets, therapy animals, and emotional support animals (ESAs) are not permitted on site.

This is a fundraising event organised to benefit the Vulcan Restoration Trust.
