🌳 Stroll & Roll: Sunday Morning Fresh Air & Friendly Faces

When: 10:15 AM arrival for a 10:30 AM prompt departure – 12:00 PM

Where: Hanley Park

Need an excuse to stretch your legs, get outside, and catch up with friendly faces without any fuss? Stroll & Roll is our relaxed, outdoor meetup built entirely around moving at your own pace and taking in the fresh air together.

Zero pressure, zero fitness tests. Whether you’re rolling on wheels, strolling with a coffee, or just fancy an easy morning walk with good company, you are completely welcome here.

🚩 Meeting Up & Timings

Spot the Leader: Look out for Dave by the bandstand—he’ll be holding a bright rainbow umbrella so you can’t miss him. Please make yourself known if you are new to our walking group.

Arrival: Please arrive from 10:15 AM to say hello, get settled, and chat. We will be setting off promptly at 10:30 AM, so don't be late!

🎒 What (and Who) to Bring

Four-Legged Friends: Well-behaved dogs on leads are not just allowed—they are actively encouraged.

Wheels of Any Kind: Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, pushchairs, or rollators.

A Camera or Phone: Hanley Park is full of brilliant photo spots, from the bridges to the floral beds.

A Bit of Pocket Money: If the Pavilion Café (right near the bandstand) is open after our loop, some of the group will likely head in for a cuppa and a slice of cake. Everyone is very welcome to join, but please note you’ll need to cover your own food and drinks.

🚶 The Pace: Strictly Low-Pressure We stick together as a main group, but we naturally spread out to suit whoever turns up. There are no personal bests to chase here. The front of the pack will regularly pause so everyone catches up comfortably, ensuring no one ever gets left behind.

♿ Accessibility Notes Hanley Park’s main pathways are paved, wide, and generally flat, making them well-suited for wheelchair users and mobility aids. If you have specific accessibility queries or need an extra hand navigating the route on the day, let us know when booking your free spot.

Dave has experience in conversations with deaf people using British Sign Language (BSL); while he is no expert, anyone who communicates using BSL is warmly encouraged to come along and join in.

💛 Keeping It Free & Sustainable Stroll & Roll is completely free to attend. Project 93 relies on the generosity of our community to keep spaces like this open and welcoming for LGBTQ+ folks and people affected by HIV across Staffordshire.
