Queer Quests Guidelines
Project 93's Queer Quests is a weekly social gathering for members of the LGBTQ+ community to connect, have fun, and enjoy games together. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. To ensure that Queer Quests remains a positive experience for all, we ask that all attendees agree to the following guidelines:
1. Respect and Inclusivity
Be respectful of all attendees: Treat everyone with kindness, consideration, and empathy.
Celebrate diversity: Queer Quests is open to all members of the LGBTQ+ community, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, ability, or background. We value and embrace the diversity of our community.
Use inclusive language: Avoid language that is offensive, discriminatory, or exclusionary. Be mindful of the impact of your words.
Respect personal boundaries: Pay attention to verbal and nonverbal cues. Do not touch or engage in behaviour that makes others uncomfortable.
Challenge prejudice: If you witness or experience any form of prejudice or discrimination, please speak up or inform a Project 93 staff member or volunteer.
2. Creating a Safe Space
Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of others. What is shared within the group should stay within the group, unless someone expresses a desire to harm themselves or others.
No Harassment: Harassment of any kind, including verbal, physical, or online, will not be tolerated.
Substance Use: While we want people to feel relaxed, excessive alcohol or drug use that impairs behaviour and impacts others negatively is discouraged.
Consent: Ensure that all interactions are consensual. This includes gaming activities, conversations, and any form of physical contact.
3. Gaming and Activities
Game Choices: Be mindful of choosing games that are inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. Avoid games that promote hate speech or discrimination.
Sharing: Be willing to share games and take turns.
Sportsmanship: Whether you win or lose, maintain good sportsmanship.
4. General Conduct
Respect the Venue: Treat the P93 Offices with care. Clean up after yourself and help keep the space tidy.
Punctuality: Please try to arrive on time so that we can start and end promptly.
Feedback: We welcome feedback on how we can improve Queer Quests. Please share your thoughts with Project 93 staff or volunteers.
