Tales of criminals, correction and the darker side of historical Swansea - "a really horrible evening!"
Meet: Outside Palace Theatre | Adult only walking tour | Duration: approx 1.5 hours
All right you 'orrible lot! If you want to hear all about historical true crime - and the harsh penalties felons faced, you've come to the right place!
Join your guides Alison and Ronnie as we take you on an adults only walking tour which digs into the darker side of one of Wales' most interesting towns, a place where a Welsh freedom fighter broke the gallows, pickpockets faced the pillory and public floggings were common place.
That's not all! Swansea lived in the shadow of the 'Black Flag' where most transgressions were punishable by death!
Meeting on the corner of Prince Of Wales Rd (by Palace Theatre), we retrace the footsteps of the felonious through Swansea's oldest and most menacing streets and lap up stories of gruesome murders, disturbing discipline techniques, public executions and you'll also hear the tales of the often forgotten victims and those closely associated to the crimes.
This is an adults only tour suitable for the "strong of stomach" as we will be talking about true crime and actual punishments - and we may even have a few "tools of the trade" so you can see for yourselves!
Join us if you dare!
Who are your tour guides?
Alison and Ronnie, two robust individuals with more than a healthy interest in all things Crime and Punishment and a fascination of horrible historical events. Yes, they were both goths in the past. Between them they have over 30 years experience in leading tour, performing and public speaking. Ronnie once served a "four year sentence" - you'll be relieved to know it was at The London Dungeon, where she created experiences that brought the past horribly back to life - including the 'torture show' which has become a Dungeon-brand attraction!
We look forward to sharing a punishing evening with you! The tour lasts approx 1.5 hours (definitely under 2 hours!)
Ready to book? Please ensure you read the terms and conditions!
