Mae Taith Gerdded Dinas My Choice yn gyfle unigryw i athrawon archwilio Abertawe fel ystafell ddosbarth estynedig. Mae’r sesiwn dysgu proffesiynol hon yn dangos sut y gall lleoedd, pobl, busnesau a sefydliadau lleol ddarparu cyd-destunau dilys sy’n dod â’r Cwricwlwm i Gymru yn fyw ac yn cefnogi’r 9 elfen CWRE.

Wedi’i datblygu mewn ymateb i adborth cadarnhaol gan ysgolion, mae’r daith yn cyflwyno cyfranogwyr i amrywiaeth o sefydliadau, cyflogwyr a gwasanaethau lleol, gan helpu athrawon i wneud cysylltiadau ystyrlon rhwng dysgu yn yr ystafell ddosbarth a’r byd o’u cwmpas.

Yn ystod y daith, bydd cyfranogwyr yn ymweld â lleoliadau ar draws canol y ddinas ac yn clywed gan weithwyr proffesiynol am eu rolau, eu sgiliau, eu llwybrau gyrfa a’r cyfleoedd sydd ar gael yn Abertawe. Byddant yn archwilio sut y gellir defnyddio profiadau, heriau a straeon lleol i gefnogi dysgu ar draws yr holl Feysydd Dysgu a Phrofiad.

Mae’r daith wedi bod yn hynod lwyddiannus gyda chyfranogwyr blaenorol. Dywedodd athrawon:

"Roedd llawer o’r wybodaeth am Y Storfa yn ddiddorol iawn ac nid oeddwn yn sylweddoli faint o adnoddau oedd ar gael."

"Roedd yn ddefnyddiol gweld beth oedd ar gael yn y Llyfrgell, adeilad newydd y Llywodraeth a Veeqo/Amazon a’r adnoddau addysgol i ysgolion."

"Roedd yn wych dysgu beth all y Farchnad ei gynnig i gefnogi ysgolion cynradd."

"Mae gwneud cysylltiadau â phobl fel Darren yn y Farchnad wedi dangos y gallwn fynd â disgyblion ar ymweliadau a helpu rhai sy’n cael trafferth yn yr ysgol i weld cyfleoedd a llwybrau gwahanol."

"Mae’r daith wedi fy helpu i gysylltu’r cwricwlwm â phrofiadau bywyd go iawn ac wedi rhoi syniadau newydd a chysylltiadau gwerthfawr i mi."

Bydd cyfranogwyr yn gadael gyda syniadau ymarferol, cysylltiadau newydd, adnoddau CWRE sy’n seiliedig ar le ac enghreifftiau o sut y gellir integreiddio cyd-destunau lleol yn effeithiol i addysgu a dysgu. Mae’r sesiwn hefyd yn cefnogi ysgolion i ddatblygu partneriaethau cynaliadwy â chyflogwyr a sefydliadau cymunedol er mwyn cyfoethogi profiadau dysgwyr a chynyddu perthnasedd y cwricwlwm.

The My Choice City Walking Tour offers teachers a unique opportunity to explore Swansea as an extended classroom. This professional learning experience demonstrates how local places, people, businesses and organisations can provide authentic contexts that bring Curriculum for Wales to life and support the 9 CWRE elements.

Developed in response to positive feedback from schools, the tour introduces participants to a range of local organisations, employers and community resources, helping teachers make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the world around them.

During the tour, participants will visit locations across the city centre and hear directly from professionals about their roles, skills, career journeys and the opportunities available within Swansea. Teachers will explore how local stories, workplaces and challenges can be used to enrich learning across all Areas of Learning and Experience.

The tour has already proven highly successful with previous participants. Teachers have shared feedback such as:

"A lot of the information about Y Storfa was very interesting and I didn’t realise the range of resources that were available."

"Learning about what was available through the Library, the new Government building and the educational resources offered through Veeqo/Amazon was particularly valuable."

"Understanding what Swansea Market can offer in supporting primary schools was extremely helpful."

"Making links with people in Swansea Market and knowing we can take pupils there on visits has opened up new opportunities and helped us see how different pathways can inspire learners who may struggle in traditional settings."

"The city tour benefited me as a teacher by helping me connect classroom learning to real-life experiences. It has given me new ideas for teaching about the world of work and provided useful contacts."

Participants will leave with practical ideas, valuable contacts, place-based CWRE resources and examples of how local contexts can be embedded effectively into teaching and learning. The session also supports schools to build sustainable partnerships with employers and community organisations, helping to create richer, more relevant and engaging learning experiences for all learners.
