About This Event

21 November: Learn the fundamentals of needle felting, creating a realistic robin, making a perfect Christmas decoration. You will learn how to sculpt a robin, using pure sheep’s wool and a special barbed needle. We will cover how to build a core shape, add colour and details, fit wire feet and construct the wings and tail. We will be using a mixture of flat and 3D felting techniques throughout the workshop. This course ideal for beginners and those looking to improve their needle felting skills. No prior experience is necessary. You will learn how to build and join wool shapes, the safe and effective use of a felting needle, how to select and use different felting tools, and how to choose wool and supplies when buying online. The tutor for this course is Sarah Richards, a self taught fibre artist and tutor. Sarah started needle felting as a hobby about 16 years ago and instantly fell in love with this amazing and very versatile art form. She has over twelve years of experience in designing and teaching craft classes, and is always passionate about sharing her love for wool! This course takes place on 21 November, 10am-4pm. There will be a short break for lunch and tea/coffee is provided.
