What actually happens when businesses try to adopt AI: the wins, the costs, and what goes wrong.

Join Tech Cornwall (https://techcornwall.co.uk/) and theUniversity of Exeter (https://www.exeter.ac.uk/) for the Cornwall AI Summit 2027, a one-day event bringing together businesses, organisations and leaders from across Cornwall and the South West to explore the reality of adopting AI.

AI is changing the way organisations work, but moving from curiosity to confident adoption isn't always straightforward.

This Summit is focused on practical AI adoption rather than technical demonstrations. We'll hear from organisations and leaders who are actually using AI: what they've tried, what's worked, what hasn't, the challenges they've faced and what they've learned along the way.

What to expect

Throughout the day we'll explore some of the practical questions organisations are facing right now:

Where can AI genuinely make a difference?

How do you identify the right opportunities for your organisation?

What are the real costs and benefits of AI adoption?

How do you bring your workforce with you?

What happens when AI implementation doesn't go to plan?

How do you manage data, governance, ethics and risk?

What skills will organisations and their people need next?

The morning will feature talks, conversations and real-world case studies, followed by practical workshops in the afternoon, giving you the opportunity to explore key topics and challenges in more depth.

Who is it for?

Cornwall AI Summit is designed for people responsible for making decisions, improving organisations and supporting people through change.

It's particularly relevant for:

Business owners, founders and SME leaders

Operations, finance and transformation leads

HR, Learning & Development and People teams

Public sector and local organisations

Leaders from manufacturing, engineering, marine, agri-tech, food and drink, tourism and hospitality

Professional services and creative industries

Funders, investors and regional economic organisations

You don't need to be an AI expert to attend.

Case studies, not code

There are plenty of events showing us what AI could do.

Cornwall AI Summit is about what happens when organisations actually try to do it.

We want to have candid conversations about implementation, people, cost, data, governance, mistakes and lessons learned; alongside the opportunities AI can create.

Come with your questions, challenges and curiosity and leave with practical ideas you can take back to your organisation.

Expect at least one story about an AI project that didn’t go to plan, because that’s often where the real lessons are.

Full programme, speakers and workshop details will be announced soon.
