A two day exploration of the essential elements to Kirtan Leadership with Nikki Slade. Over the course of the weekend, we will explore together the **Six Pillars of Kirtan Leadership**: * **Pillar One: Grounding** – Working with the body to ground your “instrument.” * **Pillar Two: Vocal Technique** – Strengthening and opening your natural voice. * **Pillar Three: The Power of Devotion (Bhakti)** – Opening the devotional channel within. * **Pillar Four: Mastery of the Inner Critic** – Gaining the confidence to step out of your own way and let the channel flow. * **Pillar Five: Harmonium Study** – Learning the foundational skills of basic drones. * **Pillar Six: Leadership Skills** – Developing the ability to create an inclusive space for the *Sangham* (community). To conclude our journey, you will have the opportunity to bring these elements together by leading a short chant with a simple harmonium drone for the group. We will also honour the legacy of the **Poet Saints of India**, drawing inspiration from the rich history they have left for our Bhakti practice **Outcomes** – As a yoga teacher, you will leave empowered to lead a simple chant in your class or as a yoga practitioner to enhance your daily kirtan practice. – As a sound healer, you will be able to bring a simple kirtan in addition to your offerings. – As a lover of mantra and sound, this retreat will enrich you with new tools to take up a regular kirtan practice.
