About This Event

Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness will be hosted at The Majestic Hotel in Tramore on 23 November 2026. Tickets cost £22.14 for individuals working in sport with responsibility for children or vulnerable adults.

Safeguarding 1 is appropriate for those working in sport with regular responsibility for children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.

Why Safeguarding Is Important

Everyone, regardless of age or circumstance, should participate in sport in a safe environment. The safeguarding of children in sport is of paramount importance. Children and young people’s experiences of sport should be fun, enjoyable and conducted in the spirit of fair play.

By following the principles, policy and practical guidelines contained in the Code & Ethics and Good Practice for Children in Sport and Sport Ireland’s Safeguarding Guidance for Children & Young People in Sport, sports leaders are playing their part in providing an enjoyable and safe environment in which children can learn and thrive.

Safeguarding 1 - Child Welfare and Protection Basic Awareness training
