Take a little time out from the Christmas rush and spend a relaxed morning painting the beautiful botanicals of the festive season.

For December's Paint the Seasons workshop at The Chestnut Horse, we'll be working from a gorgeous seasonal collection of holly, ivy, eucalyptus, evergreen foliage, berries and winter greenery, exploring their shapes, colours and delicate botanical details in watercolour.

We'll begin by experimenting with simple watercolour techniques, mixing those beautiful winter greens, layering transparent colour, creating berries and leaves and finding ways to capture foliage without getting caught up in every tiny detail.

You'll then bring your favourite elements together to create your own festive botanical painting to take home. Think loose, contemporary winter foliage rather than a traditional Christmas painting.

As always, this is a welcoming, beginner-friendly session. You don't need to know how to paint and there's no pressure to create something perfect. I'll guide you through the process, with plenty of room to experiment and develop your own style.

With coffee and something delicious to enjoy from The Chestnut Horse while you paint, it's a lovely opportunity to slow down during a busy month, make something with your hands and enjoy a little creative time before Christmas.
