About The Children

The Children at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Lucy Kirkwood’s darkly funny drama about Hazel and Robin, who are living on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone and trying to keep life normal after a catastrophe. When their old friend Rose arrives, old memories, buried secrets and a proposition bring their loyalty and their debt to the next generation into question.

This 10th anniversary production is directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan and stars Meera Syal, who is Olivier Award-nominated, as Hazel.
