About This Event

Let's Walk - World Mental Health Day Wellbeing Walk will take place on 9 October 2026 at Bumble Hole Local Nature Reserve in Wolverhampton. The event, hosted by the Canal & River Trust and Brierley Hill Samaritans, is designed to promote mental health awareness through a community walk.

To mark World Mental Health Day, the Canal & River Trust and Brierley Hill Samaritans are coming together to host a special Wellbeing Walk.

World Mental Health Day is a reminder of the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing and supporting one another through life's challenges. Sometimes, something as simple as taking a walk, having a conversation, and spending time in nature can make a real difference.

The walk will take place at the beautiful Bumble Hole Nature Reserve. Surrounded by green spaces and historic industrial landmarks, Bumble Hole offers a unique setting to pause, reflect and connect with others. Research continues to show the benefits of spending time outdoors. Walking alongside our waterways can support both physical and mental wellbeing, providing opportunities for exercise, fresh air, sunshine and the restorative benefits of being close to nature.

We're proud to be partnering with Brierley Hill Samaritans, whose volunteers provide vital emotional support to people experiencing distress, loneliness, despair or thoughts of suicide. Their work helps ensure that no one has to face difficult times alone.

This joint wellbeing walk is an opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness of mental health, encourage open conversations and celebrate the positive impact that our canals and green spaces can have on wellbeing.

Whether you come along for the scenery, the company, the exercise, or simply to take some time for yourself, everyone is welcome.

Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather.
