Get creative with stencilling and masking paint techniques in Naburn York!. Suitable for beginners, all materials provided.

The event will be held in the larger room at Tea By The Lock. Those who come to the workshop will be welcome to buy refreshements at the lovely tearoom.

The workshop is run by an experienced local artist, who often incorporates stencilling and masking into her artwork. If you are new to stencilling, this is a great workshop for trying out the technique, and if you are already a stenciller or painter, this would be an opportunity to experiment with combining techniques.

Stencilling and masking can be applied to furniture upcycling, fabric design, card making, room decoration, and within abstract or figurative art. I'll bring examples of some of the ways I've worked with collage, that I hope will inspire you!

It's a perfect chance to unwind and escape into a world of colour, and create your own artwork with no need to have any drawing or painting skills.

I will provide some examples of my work as inspiration, and give a demonstration, and then you will be free to have a go yourself, making a card or picture. If you wished to have a go at decorating something else, such as the front of a notebook or the top of a box, please do bring along anything you would like.

Tea By The Lock is a wonderful venue, and the location itself offers a relaxed atmosphere, is dog-friendly, and is close to both a bus stop and the lock carpark. It is past the caravan park, down the track through the gate, and to the right, by the Lock.
