Essential Kit:

✅ Walking boots: Supportive, comfortable, and waterproof

✅ Backpack: Large enough to carry food, water, and extra layers

✅ Water bottles: At least 1–2 litres — hydration is key!

✅ Snacks and food: High-energy trail food — trail mix, energy bars, fruit, and a packed lunch

🧥 Clothing:

✅ Base layer: Moisture-wicking tops and leggings

✅ Mid layer: Fleece or light sweater for warmth. Light clothing during the summer season.

✅ Outer layer: Waterproof and windproof jacket and overtrousers

✅ Hat and gloves: To keep warm, even in summer, at higher elevations

✅ Walking socks: Durable and comfortable — consider a spare pair

✅ Fully charged phone: Ideally with a backup battery pack

✅ First aid kit: Plasters, painkillers, and any medication you need

✅ Whistle: For emergencies — a small, lightweight lifesaver

✅ Torch or headlamp: If you’re delayed or descending in low light

✅ Sunscreen and sunglasses: To protect against UV, even on overcast days

✅ Rubbish bag: Carry back everything you bring — leave no trace!
