Somatic Extended Sessions will be held in Rise, Frome, providing a two-hour opportunity for participants to explore somatics, yoga, and breath in a slower, more exploratory manner. These sessions are designed for individuals seeking a gentle approach to practice, particularly those living with pain or other health conditions.
About: A monthly two-hour session offering a little more time and space than we have in a regular class. We’ll explore somatics, yoga & breath, with time to slow things down, repeat movements, pause, notice, and follow what feels interesting or useful. These sessions are for anyone who enjoys a slower, more exploratory approach to practice and would like the opportunity to spend a little longer with it. Testimonials: “Charlotte is so much more than a yoga teacher, she is a body and mental health professional. Her holistic approach is trauma informed and totally client centred. She’s got you !” Katie Flowers Suitable for: Living with pain, long covid, ME/CFS, PEM, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, sciatica - or simply finding that your body doesn’t always respond well to traditional yoga? A somatic approach to yoga allows you to slow down, listen in and move in a way that respects where your body is today. There’s no pushing through, no forcing, no expectation of what your body should be able to do. Instead, we explore small, gentle movements, rest, breath & sensation - developing a deeper awareness of your body & learning to recognise the difference between effort & strain, discomfort & ease. You don’t need to be flexible, strong or experienced. You don’t even need to know exactly what your body needs. What to wear/bring: Wear Comfortable clothing for moving in Mats/Blankets and Blocks are provided Cost: £ 18 (all bookings done via https://charlottedouglasyoga.com/class-schedule) Additional information: Charlotte Douglas is a certified yoga therapist, somatic movement educator, and teacher with over 15 years of experience helping people reconnect with themselves through movement, breath, and embodied awareness. Her approach blends yoga, somatics, and neuroscience to support greater ease, resilience, and self-awareness. She is passionate about creating inclusive, inquiry-led spaces where people can move beyond simply doing yoga to developing a deeper relationship with themselves and their bodies.
