Learn the basics of crochet to create a granny square! This is a workshop for beginners, or anyone wanting to refresh their skills.

Granny squares for beginners

Always wanted to give crochet a go, or fancy refreshing your craft skills with yarn and hooks? Come and learn the basics at this laidback workshop and make your own granny square!

In this two hour session we'll cover:

Making a slip knot

Crochet chains

Treble crochet stitch

Changing colour

All the essential skills you need to start your crochet journey! You'll be provided with beautiful British wool yarn and a crochet hook to keep, and work your way through making a granny square. We all learn at different paces, so you'll also leave with some further resources and a few treats.

We'll have a dedicated cosy table at Maravi (https://www.maravicoffee.co.uk/our-coffee-shops) for our small group workshop. It's a lovely venue right in the heart of Christchurch, and there is Saxon Square parking nearby. Your ticket includes a hot drink.

This workshop is suitable for ages 12 years and up. Youngsters must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Your tutor is local knit and crochet designer Becca from To Be Adorned (https://www.instagram.com/tobeadorned/). She's been teaching yarn craft skills for years and used to work for Simply Crochet magazine.

Spaces are limited for the event, but keep your eyes peeled for future workshops and social Stitch Nights!

Please do not attend this workshop if you feel unwell.
