A training event for new RE Leaders will take place at the Diocesan Office in Bristol on 2026-09-15 at 12:00. The event is free to attend, but delegates must pay £80 to participate. The event is for those newly recruited to the role of RE Subject Leader or those who want to refresh their understanding of the role.
For anyone who has been newly recruited to the role of RE Subject Leader or who would like to refresh their understanding of the role
£80 per delegate (and £45 for a further delegate from the same school/parish).
You will be invoiced BEFORE the event.
Outcomes:
an understanding of the aims and purposes of Religious Education
a basic understanding of the central beliefs of the 6 world faiths (and non-religious world views);
the skills to be able to judge RE teaching and learning using Ofsted (and SIAMS) criteria;
be able to develop realistic models for assessment and monitoring progress in RE and be able to identify key issues arising from pupil work books
know how to make positive changes - audit current provision and make a realistic action plan

1. Please note that bookings for this event will be on a first come first served basis.
2. Please confirm special dietary requirements at time of booking. If left blank, we assume there are no requirements.
3. A programme and information will be sent prior to the event.
4. CANCELLATION – In the event of cancellation, and if no other delegate can be sent as a replacement, the school may be liable to a cancellation charge as follows: Up to 8 weeks before event up to 50%; Less than 4 weeks before event up to 100% if we are unable to reallocate your space.
