Join us for an illuminating conversation between Jodie Ginsberg, Chief Executive of the Committee to Protect Journalists, and acclaimed novelist Burhan Sönmez, President of PEN International. Together, they lead two of the world's foremost organisations defending the rights of journalists, writers and artists to speak, write and create without fear.
Drawing on their experience at the forefront of global free expression advocacy, Jodie and Burhan will explore the challenges facing journalists and writers today, the impact of restrictions on free speech, and why the freedom to tell stories and bear witness remains essential to open and democratic societies.
This inaugural Sanctuary Session offers an opportunity to hear from two leading voices in the international movement for freedom of expression, followed by questions from the audience.
