Preparing Young People for Positive FuturesBuilding confidence, independence, employability and meaningful pathways beyond Alternative Provision. Join us for a half-day practical training session focused on how Alternative Provision and education professionals can effectively prepare young people for positive and sustainable futures. For many young people accessing Alternative Provision, preparing for adulthood requires more than academic achievement alone. Providers have an important role in helping learners develop the skills, confidence, aspirations and experiences they need to successfully progress into further education, training, employment and independent adulthood. This session will explore practical ways to embed preparation for the future throughout a young person’s experience of Alternative Provision. What will the training cover? Throughout the session, we will explore: Understanding what positive progression looks like for individual young people Raising aspirations while maintaining realistic and achievable pathways Developing confidence, resilience and independence Embedding employability skills within your provision Developing communication, teamwork, problem-solving and workplace behaviours Supporting young people to recognise their own strengths and transferable skills Building meaningful life skills and preparation for adulthood Careers education, information, advice and guidance Exploring further education, training, apprenticeships and employment Creating meaningful experiences of the world of work Supporting young people with CVs, applications and interview preparation Identifying and addressing barriers to progression Supporting SEND learners to prepare for adulthood and their next steps Developing personalised progression goals and action plans Evidencing employability, independence and wider personal development Working with families, employers, colleges and other partners Supporting effective transitions from Alternative Provision Tracking destinations and demonstrating longer-term impact Practical activities and approaches that can be embedded within your provision Who is this training for? Ticket Information Half-Day Training £70 + VAT per person Your place includes: Half-day specialist training Morning snack Open Awards accreditation Practical guidance and resources to support implementation within your provision Booking & Payment All attendees must book their place through Eventbrite to secure a ticket. If your organisation is part of the Provisions Plus+ subscribed network, your place will be managed in line with your subscription benefits. If you are not part of the subscribed network, please still secure your place through Eventbrite. Following registration, Provisions Plus+ will issue an invoice for £70 + VAT per person.
