Within Alternative Provision, successful outcomes are rarely achieved by one organisation working in isolation. Strong communication and genuine partnership working between providers, families, schools, Local Authorities and other professionals can make a significant difference to a young person’s engagement, progress and overall experience. This session will explore practical approaches to building trust, maintaining professional relationships and creating a collaborative approach that keeps the child or young person at the centre. What will the training cover? Throughout the session, we will explore: The importance of effective partnership working within Alternative Provision Building positive relationships with parents and carers Establishing trust from the beginning of a placement Setting clear expectations, roles and responsibilities Developing effective and consistent communication Keeping parents and carers meaningfully informed about progress Encouraging parent and carer engagement Understanding different perspectives and experiences Maintaining professional boundaries Approaching sensitive and difficult conversations confidently Responding to concerns, disagreements and conflict professionally Managing expectations while maintaining positive relationships Working effectively with schools, commissioners and Local Authorities Multi-agency and professional partnership working Effective information sharing and record keeping Ensuring communication remains child-centred and outcome-focused Capturing and responding to parent, carer and stakeholder voice Using feedback to strengthen and improve your provision Supporting collaborative decision-making Practical communication strategies that can be implemented within your organisation Who is this training for?
