This talk will discuss how archaeologists have recorded and interpreted shipwreck remains, historic structures, and Landscapes.

Over the past decade, the redevelopment of Dublin Port has provided a unique opportunity to investigate the archaeology of one of Ireland's busiest working ports. From shipwrecks preserved beneath reclaimed land to historic quay walls, sea defences and other forgotten structures, archaeological investigations have uncovered remarkable evidence of Dublin's maritime past.

In this talk, maritime archaeologist Niall Brady will reflect on ten years of archaeological work carried out alongside major port infrastructure projects. Drawing on discoveries made during the Alexandra Basin Redevelopment and other schemes, he will explore how archaeology has helped reveal the changing story of Dublin Port and the people who lived and worked along its waterfront over the centuries.
