Celebrate Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din with Us!

Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din 2026 will be a mixed cultural, educational and intellectual community event exploring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of equality, dignity and social emancipation, and his use of Buddhism as a path towards liberation for oppressed and marginalised communities.

The event will feature a keynote address and panel discussion with Dr. Jude Lal Fernando, exploring Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideas, the relationship between Buddhism and social emancipation, and how these ideas can help us reflect on oppression, discrimination and social justice in contemporary Ireland.

The discussion will also explore the growing South Asian diaspora in Ireland and the importance of understanding and addressing caste discrimination and caste-based attitudes within an increasingly diverse society.

Alongside the intellectual programme, the event will include anti-caste art, poetry, cultural performances and community-led creative expression, bringing together history, ideas, culture and lived experiences.

The event is designed as an inclusive community gathering, combining meaningful discussion with cultural celebration, networking, food and refreshments.
