The Grangegorman Exhibition and Walking Tour will be held at TU Dublin, Grangegorman in Dublin on 30 September 2026, featuring a walking tour and the 'Beyond the Walls' exhibition.
Grangegorman Histories invite you to join us for a walking tour of Grangegorman and visit the new 'Beyond the Walls' exhibition
For centuries Grangegorman was a place of confinement and care. Within its walls were a workhouse, an asylum and a prison, where lives were shaped by hardship – and sometimes hope. Patients, prisoners, inmates and staff all left their mark on this ground. This exhibition invites you to step into their world – a world where the poor and mentally ill had little choice, where a spell in an overcrowded institution was sometimes better than remaining outside these walls. Today, as Grangegorman is transformed into an open, vibrant space, the past still lingers in its buildings, landscape, and memory.
Grangegorman Histories invite you to join us for a walking tour of the Grangegorman site and the brand new exhibition about the history of Grangegorman, Beyond the Wall
