RMPF presents: Strong Foundations, Shared Futures

The 2026 Regional Marine Planning Forum (RMPF) will be held at Discovery Quay, on Dundee's Waterfront on Wednesday, 28th October 2026 from 10am-4pm.

The Forum follows the day after Sea Scotland (Tuesday, 27th October) hosted by Scottish Environment LINK at the same venue, for which registrations are also currently open: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sea-scotland-conference-2026-tickets-1991572144897. Common themes raised at both events will invite further collaboration and discussion.

This forum presents regional priorities and frames key issues in marine planning. It raises important questions for the future and explores the links between terrestrial and marine planning and bridging science and policy.

The event highlights ongoing action across Scotland addressing challenges such as climate change, sustainable development, and species and habitat preservation through partnership working.

Scotland’s seas face increasing competition requiring a balance between geo-political drivers and preserving high-quality habitats and environments. This balance is supported by data collection, coordinated research, public engagement, and a focus on sustainable futures.

You are invited to hear from Scotland's Local Coastal Partnerships, Regional Marine Planning Delegates and a range of interested partners, including the Scottish Government's Marine Directorate, with opportunities for atendees to engage and explore the topics.
