In 2025, thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to secure additional land and expand Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve. Now we are looking to the future of the new land and the wider reserve.

We will have a series of information boards to view, featuring details about the nature reserve's history, the phases of restoration that have happened since it was an opencast coalmine and our plans for the future, including how visitors can access nature around the reserve. There will be people on-hand to discuss the plans with you and you will have the opportunity to supply your feedback on the proposals.
