A group for 11-18 year olds who wish to learn some practical conservation skills, improve ecological knowledge and enjoy the outdoors.

Join us for habitat creation!

This session we will be working on winter habitat for invertebrates, amphibians and small mammals within a wooded area. We will record what life is present before working to refresh bug hotels, create hedgehog hides and extend a dead hedge. This will involve learning new skills, including how to use equipment and tools safely.

Join this group of young volunteers and get some hands-on experience of managing a nature reserve. Meet like-minded people, get active and have fun along the way.

Volunteering hours can count towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award or can be recorded as work experience on your CV, plus you’re helping to do your bit for the environment.

Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring suitable waterproof clothing (that you don’t mind getting dirty) and sturdy footwear. A drink/snacks are advisable though these can be purchased from the café.
