These relaxed sessions are designed for children with additional support needs and their families. Get inspired through games, activities and an optional gallery visit. We aim to create a fun, friendly, and relaxed environment for ASN children to explore our Curiosity Club activities with the reassurance of their parents/carers being with them or nearby. Who are the sessions for? • Content is aimed at ages 7–11 but this is not a set age-range and we welcome all children and families who think they might enjoy these sessions. • Parents/carers (up to two per participating child) are invited to stay and either join in with the activities or relax nearby. • Children with additional support needs or neurodivergent children who feel comfortable participating in our standard Curiosity Club sessions without parents/carers present are welcome to do so. The relaxed sessions are for those who prefer a shorter, more supported session with reduced numbers and the option of parents/carers remaining to help. During the sessions • Each session will have a reduced capacity and a slightly slower pace to allow more time to enjoy the activities. • A Quiet Space will be set up in a nearby area that can be used whenever is needed during the session. • We can offer water or juice and a small snack. You are also welcome to bring your own with you. We kindly ask that no nuts or food containing nuts are brought into the Learning Centre. • The sessions will take place in our Learning Centre on Level 4, but families are also welcome to join us for an optional visit to a relevant public gallery immediately after the session at 15:30.
