The Burrell Collection will offer an autism-friendly early opening on 16 October 2026 to welcome neurodivergent attendees. There is no ticket required to enter the venue for this session.
We welcome children and adults with autism, additional needs, neurodivergence and sensory needs at the Burrell Collection. To accommodate members of the public who can find a museum visit overwhelming and prefer a calmer environment, the Burrell Collection are hosting quiet and relaxed hour-long sessions. The next session is on: Friday 16th October, 10am-11am. These sessions are essentially for, but not limited to, people with autism, additional needs, neurodivergence or sensory needs who may prefer a more relaxed experience. As well as their families, friends, and carers. During an early opening we reduce noise levels, flashing lights and crowds as much as possible. We will open to the general public at 11am as usual. Sensory bags which include ear defenders are available for visitors to use during their time in the museum. These can be collected from reception. There is a quiet space close to reception. Please ask any member of staff for directions. We have created visual storyboards, which help you see around our museum before your visit. The Burrell Collection Visual Storyboard can be found here . The AccessAble guide can be found at this link .
