About This Event

If you love to be hands on and want to bring home an elegant deep buttoned footstool you have made yourself - this course is for you! During this intensive weekend course, you will learn some useful upholstery skills, under the friendly guidance of two experienced upholsterers Robin (from Robin Upholstery) and Janneke (Flamingo Upholstery). You will build up the frame with webbing, hessian, foam and wadding, and you will learn how to make buttons and create diamond pleats. You will also sew piping on a border and use the staple gun to attach the fabric. Classes are small (max 4 or 5), so there is plenty of support. The course costs £380, which includes the locally made frame, legs and all the materials to build it up. All you need to bring is 2 metres of your favourite fabric. The next course will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, 10am - 4.30pm. Venue is Kodac Studios, Studio 16, 719A South Street, Glasgow. It is on the first floor without a lift.
