Discover more about the vibrant city of Glasgow in the late 1890s and early 1900s – a time of change and innovation. *REDUCED ADMISSION - We’re taking part in the Great British Summer Savings scheme, offering a reduced VAT rate of 5% on all admission prices. Discover the story of pioneering entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston and her remarkable collaboration with architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh and artist Margaret Macdonald. Together, they created one of Glasgow’s most iconic and influential interiors, shaping a new vision for modern living at the turn of the 20th century. This immersive exhibition explores how art, social change and enterprise came together to define an era. Through thoughtfully curated interactive, audio and visual displays, you are invited to engage more deeply with the people and ideas behind the Mackintosh Tearooms. National Trust for Scotland members enjoy complimentary access to the exhibition. Please note that exhibition tickets do not include refreshments. To experience the full hospitality of the Mackintosh Tearooms, we recommend booking a table in advance. Additional information Length of visit Most visitors spend around an hour in the exhibition. Check-in details You may arrive at any time during our opening hours: March to September: 10:00am – 5:30pm October to February: 10:00am – 4:30pm If arriving at 10:00am, please note that the building opens to the public at this time. Access to the exhibition will begin shortly afterwards once ticket check‑in has been completed. Cancellations Customers have the opportunity to rebook, or to receive a full credit, by cancelling their booking online with 48 hours’ notice. Customers will receive a full credit in the case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.
