Our first Glasgow Camerawalk takes the long way from Glasgow Cross to St Enoch Square, heading down to the Clyde and following the river before looping back through the city centre. The photographic theme is Streets, Bridges & the Clyde, with opportunities to explore reflections, river architecture, graffiti, street life, geometry, changing light and the details we normally walk straight past. This is a relaxed, small-group photography walk rather than a formal class. Phones, compact cameras, film cameras, DSLRs and mirrorless cameras are all welcome. We’ll begin with a few simple prompts about looking, seeing and questioning what catches our attention, then leave plenty of space for everyone to make their own photographs. After the walk, participants can submit up to three photographs to Camerawalk, see what everyone else noticed, vote on the entries and compete for the walk prize, which is included as part of the ticket. The route is approximately 5 km / 3 miles, mostly on paved and generally level city streets and riverside paths, with frequent photography stops. Walks normally continue in ordinary Glasgow rain, with a shorter, more sheltered route available if conditions require it. Places are limited and advance booking is required through Camerawalk.
