Secondary School comes with its own challenges - find out how to support your child during this period.
Secondary school can be a complex time for young people, with new structures, increasing expectations and important transitions as they move through different stages of their education. These changes can feel especially significant for young people who are adopted or care experienced.
This workshop will help you think about how to support your young person as they settle into secondary school, manage key transitions and respond to the changing demands of school life. Topics we’ll cover include:
how secondary schools work and building positive relationships with staff
supporting key transitions, including starting secondary school and preparing to leave
understanding teenage brain development and its impact on behaviour
how relationships change during adolescence, with family, friends and the wider world
