About This Event

Forest bathing sessions take place at Claremont Landscape Garden in Guildford on 18 September 2026 at 09:00. The practice, originating in Japan in the 1980s, involves mindful immersion in woodland environments.

Forest bathing is often misunderstood—it doesn’t involve immersing yourself in water!

Originating in Japan in the 1980s, forest bathing, or ‘shinrin-yoku’, was developed following scientific studies to help reduce stress. While many cultures have long understood the healing power of nature, forest bathing elevates this connection through mindfulness and sensory exploration. It encourages slowing down and fully immersing yourself in the natural world, providing an uplift in mood and general wellbeing.

The two and a half hour session will start pre-opening, giving participants access to the peace and quiet of the garden, ahead of our daily visitors.

Session dates for 2026 are:

Friday 17 April

Friday 15 May

Friday 5 June

Friday 3 July

Friday 18 September

All sessions are 9-11:30am and are £25 per person.
