Guided Walk - Adventures at Sea Join Heritage Coach and volunteer guide Geoff Ashton for a deep dive into the Featherstone II and Browne III memorial stained glass windows. These windows celebrate the histories of two Royal Naval families - Captain Craven John Featherstone, and Captain Richard Browne and his wife and sons. Discover how these Ripon families were involved in the little know conflict with the United States during the Napoleonic Wars, with constitutional movements in Ireland, and one of the Royal Navy’s greatest peacetime tragedies. We will explore the deeply evocative choices of images in these two memorial windows, celebrating lives well lived in success, tragedy and ultimate hope. A donation of £5 per person is invited in support of the cathedral’s education programme.
