Tutor: James Duncan
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is a wetland wildlife habitat renowned for its magnificent bird life - over 280 species have been recorded. At this time of year, many of the birds you can see and hear are visitors from the frozen North, attracted by our mild winters and plentiful food.
Join us for a circular walk of approximately 3km (2 miles) as we visit a few of the bird hides to get excellent views of waders, seabirds, ducks and more. Our expert, James will guide you in pointing out these special birds and tell the stories of their journeys.
There'll be opportunities to ask questions as we walk round. Binoculars are highly recommended, although we'll have some pairs available for loan on the day.
Previous attendees of James's courses said:
"James was really enthusiastic, he had so much knowledge he was clearly happy to share with us."
"Superb guide. Imparted knowledge well in an informal way."
James Duncan has led hundreds of walks and courses for Sussex Wildlife Trust and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of natural history and a wealth of fascinating facts to share.
